About Our Council

Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is committed to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place!

Our council serves more than 10,000 members in 80 Kansas counties through our operational headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, and regional offices in Salina, Hays, Emporia and Garden City.

Our mission is championing leadership growth in girls through community service, personal development, and fun-filled experiences in Girl Scouts – the pre-eminent leadership development organization for girls.

We partner with adult volunteers and communities to provide leadership experiences and activities that meet the needs of today’s girls and include every girl. We believe in the power of girls! Whether it’s her first camping trip with her best friends, completing a service project that impacts the community, or designing a robot with our Robo Troop, our girls discover what makes them special, and they’re encouraged to take the lead. They’re experiencing new adventures every day and developing lifelong friendships along the way.

When a girl joins our council, she discovers the world around her, she connects with others in a multicultural, all-inclusive environment, and she takes action to make a difference in her community and the world.

Ready for your next adventure? Join us! Ready to change a girl’s life? Become a Girl Scout volunteer today! Got questions? Contact our council, and we'd love to tell you more.
